LG electronics has launched the LG X2 (2019) in South Korea. The newly launched LG X2 (2019) is the successor to the LG X2 that was launched in June last year with a 5-inch HD display and 1.3GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon system on chip (SoC) and it will go on sale in the country at a price that is similar to its predecessor, that is KRW 198,000, which roughly translates to Rs 11,500 approximately.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the newly launched LG X2 (2019) comes with a 5.45-inch full vision HD display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and a pixel density of 295 ppi, which is slightly better than the LG X2 that featured a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It measures 147 x 71.5 x 8.2mm and weighs 147 grams. While the dimensions of the LG X2 (2019) are roughly the same as that of its predecessor, the phone is slightly lighter than its X2, which weighs 152 grams.
As far as the built of the phone is concerned, the LG X2 is compliant with military grade MIL-STD810G standard, which makes the phone more durable to shocks, temperature changes and humidity. It is a feature that is also available on other smartphones by the company such as the LG G7 ThinQ and the LG V40 ThinQ. In addition to this, the phone comes with a special button to invoke the Google Assistant on the right side – another feature that it shares with some of the premium budget smartphones by LG.
In terms of the technical details, the LG X2 (2019) unlike its predecessor which was powered by a 1.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie and it sports 2GB RAM with 32GB internal memory that can be expanded further using a memory card up to 2TB, which is a slight improvement from X2’s 16GB internal storage space.
The budget LG X2 (2019) comes with a 5MP camera in the front and a 13MP camera at the back. The phone will go on sale in Korea in New Aurora Black colour variant on August 9. Besides Korea and the US, where it is already available as the LG K30, the LG X2 (2019) will be available in Europe, which includes countries like Germany, Italy and Poland soon, the company has confirmed.
