On the occasion of its 22nd anniversary, LG Electronics India organised a mega blood donation drive across 47 cities on May 11. The CSR initiative was conducted in association with National Blood Transfusion Council, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The blood bank partners were Army Command Hospitals, Red Cross Society of India, Rotary Club, Lion’s Club, government hospitals and others. Chandigarh Superintendent of Police Niharika Bhatt was the chief guest at a camp organised in Chandigarh and she also donated blood on the occasion.
MMTC’s gold festival on Akshay Trithiya
On the occasion of Akshay Trithiya, MMTC organised a festival of gold exhibition-cum-sale from May 4 to May 8 with new medallion designs inspired by religious deities. Silver medallions in 50 gm were also available in eight different colour representations of gods and goddesses. The company also introduced its best-selling 8 gm gold coin for the first time in 22 carat. The festival was inaugurated by MMTC’s CMD Ved Prakash. Students of SVKM’s CNM School shine
Students of SVKM’s CNM School, Mumbai, once again brought laurels to their institute in board exams. At the ICSE Board exams, Sumeet Motwani topped the results with a score of 98.8% while Sakshi Fadia secured 97% in the ISC (Commerce). A total of 266 students appeared for ICSE Board Exams and 171 students scored 90% and above marks with average percentage of the school being 90.67%.

Gravity Creation targets 100 stores by 2021
Men’s wear brand Gravity is looking to expand pan-India with plans to open 100 stores by 2021 with an investment of Rs 20 crore. The Mumbai-based apparel company is now expanding in North India with the opening of an outlet in Gurugram. “We are targeting to have our brand store in all district headquarters in India in the next 5 years and will evaluate our IPO plans once we hit 100 stores,” said Vikram Shah, director, Gravity Creation.

Procter & Gamble Health revenue increases 22%
Procter & Gamble Health Ltd (formerly Merck Ltd) has announced its financial results for the quarter ended March 31. The company has recorded a revenue of Rs 249 crore, up 22.2% vs. year ago (sales from operations up by 17%) driven by a strong performance across brands, growth in exports, higher interest income and improved execution. The profit after tax was Rs 40.7 crore versus Rs 22.7 crore from continued operations driven by high interest income and operational efficiencies.
